DIY: The Spring Dream Crochet Halter Free Pattern!

Hello there! Happy Tuesday to you! I've been wanting to try my hand at a crochet halter top and I thought I'd share the pattern! I actually cannot wait to create more, I love the idea of layering Spring dress underneath the top or using it as a cute coverall for the beach!

Ingredients:    
Crochet Hook>> H/8-5.00MM
 
Craft Scissors
Yarn Sewing Needle
Yarn used>>1 Skein of Canary (Caron Simply Soft Yarn) Medium 4


Measurements of Top:  
Length of top from neckline: 11.5 inches  
Bust of Top: 12.5 inches total (front and back)  
Armhole/sleeves length: 8.5 inches  
Length of neckline (strap to strap): 7 inches
Size Small 

Stitch guide: 

HDC= half double crochet  
SS= slip stitch
ST(S)= stitch(es)
CH= chain R[number]= Row  

Step 1  
This first step is to create the top, you will be working from the bottom of the top, to the bust then to form the straps. You will repeat this step twice to create the Full top!
CH 50 (or half desired waist measurement) 16 inches width across
 
R1: SC in all of the STS for the entire Row, turn work when complete.

R2-R8: DC into the first ST, Skip 1 ST, *DC three times into the following ST, Skip 2 STS, DC three times into the following ST (after the 2 skipped STS)... *Repeat method until the end of the Row, (Row 8)
Step 2 This step is to create the armholes for the tank.
Skip the first two STS as well as the last two STS of Row 9.
R9: DC into the first ST, Skip 1 ST, *DC three times into the following ST, Skip 2 STS, DC three times into the following ST (after the 2 skipped STS)... *Repeat method until the end of the Row.
R10: (Decrease by 1 ST) DC into the first ST, Skip 1 ST, *DC three times into the following ST, Skip 2 STS, DC three times into the following ST (after the 2 skipped STS)... *Repeat method until the end of the Row.
R11: (Decrease by 1 ST) DC into the first ST, Skip 1 ST, *DC three times into the following ST, Skip 2 STS, DC three times into the following ST (after the 2 skipped STS)... *Repeat method until the end of the Row.
R12: (Decrease by 1 ST) DC into the first ST, Skip 1 ST, *DC three times into the following ST, Skip 2 STS, DC three times into the following ST (after the 2 skipped STS)... *Repeat method until the end of the Row.
R13: (Decrease by 1 ST) DC into the first ST, Skip 1 ST, *DC three times into the following ST, Skip 2 STS, DC three times into the following ST (after the 2 skipped STS)... *Repeat method until the end of the Row.
R14: (Decrease by 1 ST) DC into the first ST, Skip 1 ST, *DC three times into the following ST, Skip 2 STS, DC three times into the following ST (after the 2 skipped STS)... *Repeat method until the end of the Row.
R15: SC in all of the STS for the entire Row, turn work when complete.

Step 3

This step is to create the straps for the tank. 3 inches length
CH 6
R16-20: HDC in all of the STS for the entire Row, turn work after each Row, at the end of Row 20, SS the remaining strand.

Note:
You will repeat Step 1 through Step 3. Two times to create both the front as well as the back of the top.
Step 4
For the finishing technique.
SC around both of the entire finished crocheted pieces only once using your yarn sewing needle.

Step 5
(This step is to sew the crocheted pieces together to create your top.)
Once both of the parts of the top are created. Lie both pieces flat. Now sew the sides together, leaving the armholes, the neckline and the bottom of the top free.
